PUHI — The Kauai Community Tennis Organization (KCTO) announced the resounding success of its Spring 2025 Tennis Event held on Saturday. The event took place at the Kauai Community College Fitness Courts and brought together tennis enthusiasts of all ages for a day filled with fun, learning and community spirit.
The event featured two main clinics: a Junior Clinic for ages 5-18 and an Adult Clinic. A total of 36 junior players participated in the Junior Clinic, showcasing their skills and enthusiasm for the sport. Over 10 adults joined the Adult Clinic, making it a well-rounded event that catered to both young aspiring athletes and seasoned players.
Participants enjoyed engaging tennis drills and games suitable for all skill levels, ranging from beginners to advanced players. The organization provided rackets for those who needed them, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to participate fully. Alongside the tennis activities, attendees were treated to drinks, snacks and exciting prizes that added an extra layer of enjoyment to the day.
USTA Hawaii Pacific Director of Junior Tennis Oceane Adam and USTA Red Ball Project Director Kailuhia Lam participated with KCTO’s Coach Ernie Blachowiak, Rod Green and Korin Dunford with both junior and adult events, bringing structure and fun to the day. Executive Director Ron Romano helped coordinate the event.
The KCTO Board of Directors and Executive Director Ron Romano of the USTA Hawaii Pacific expressed gratitude towards all participants and volunteers who made this event possible.
“We are delighted by the turnout and enthusiasm shown by our community members,” said Romano. “Events like these highlight the importance of sports in bringing people together and fostering a sense of camaraderie.”
