PUHI — Despite the lure of a YETI hardbody cooler, participants in the operator skills challenge did not overcome their shyness for media cameras on Friday at the Kauai branch of Bacon Universal in the Puhi Industrial Park.
The celebration known as the Kubota Orange Days is part of a national sales campaign that runs between March 1 and June 3o and offers the year’s best deals on Kubota equipment, including tractors, mowers, utility vehicles, and more, like the mini crane used in the operator’s skill challenge.
“This is the first time we’re doing this on Kauai,” said Amelia Pearce of Bacon Universal Marketing. “When we did this in Hilo on Hawaii Island, we had representatives from Kubota join us. It was a real party. Maybe we’ll see if we can get the Kubota representatives here for the next one.”
As part of the Kauai branch celebration, Branch Manager Wesley Umakoshi was joined by Bacon Universal President and CEO Matthew Elvin in presenting Kauai Humane Society Executive Director Padric Gallagher with a $1,000 award on behalf of Bacon Universal and Kubota.
The Kauai Humane Society was selected during a nomination process by the Bacon Universal Kauai Branch team. The Kauai Humane Society was also invited to join the day of festivities at the Puhi Industrial Park location to highlight some of the KHS work and programs available.
Attendees to the Orange Day festivities earned an exclusive coupon from Kubota with additional savings over the event deals, in addition to enjoying lunch from the Kanak Attack food trailer.
Bacon Universal has been a leading provider of heavy equipment in Hawaii since 1847, and represents leading brands like Kubota, Komatsu, ILG, Crown and more.
Bacon Universal operates five branches on Oahu, Maui, Hawaii Island and Kauai.
